Picket Lines are popping up with greater frequency across the U.S. From Tacoma to Detroit we have seen a new, fighting mood that exists among growing numbers of working people fed up with being forced to pay for an economic crisis caused by Wall Street and Corporate America.
At the same time, the attacks on labor unions and the working class in general seem to be relentless. Currently Congress is preparing to vote on legislation that could result in the layoffs of some 120,000 postal workers, supposedly in the name of dealing with a budget shortfall, which the unions rightly claim to be manufactured.
