Global Day of Solidarity with Troy Davis
The International Socialist Organization in Houston came out to lend our voices to the chorus of those calling out for justice on the Global Day of Solidarity with Troy Davis this past Friday - 9/16. Gloria Rubac and the Texas Death Penalty Abolition Movement (TDPAM) organized a demonstration in front of the Harris County Criminal Justice Center in downtown Houston. We had a couple of great speakers and some enthusiastic chanting and sign-waving. The situation is desperate, as Troy's execution is scheduled for next Wednesday. You can support Troy by calling the Georgia Board of Pardons and Parole at 404-656-5651. Press '0' for operator, then '5' for pardons. For more, check out what you can do for Troy.
